Foster parent and home daycare operator arrested in Brandon, Manitoba, on child pornography charges. Investigation ongoing.
The cops in Brandon got a tip earlier this month. The National Child Exploitation Centre sent it. Someone might have made child abuse material. Their investigation pointed to a 37-year-old guy.
He and his partner were foster parents. They also ran a daycare at home. Cops went to the house on Monday. They grabbed some devices there. Six children were inside; police protected them.
Police Chief Tyler Bates said it’s early in the investigation. The children at the home may not be the only victims. Evidence from devices will reveal abuse severity. Other victims are possible, he shared.
The 37-year-old faces many charges. These charges relate to child pornography. He also faces assault and sexual assault charges. Sexual interference is one charge too.
Bates said they told the daycare parents too. Parents felt shock and horror at the news. They were upset about the crimes at the house.
