Montreal: So, Amazon just dropped a bombshell by saying it’s closing all its warehouses in Quebec. That means nearly 2,000 folks are losing their jobs. Ouch!

Industry Minister François-Philippe Champagne is not happy about this. He’s calling for a review of how Canada does business with Amazon. He’s ready to fight for those jobs.

Now, here’s the kicker: this closure comes right after workers at one of the warehouses managed to unionize. Coincidence? Amazon says no way, claiming it’s all about being efficient and cost-effective.

Champagne had a chat with Amazon Canada’s CEO and even sent a letter to the big boss, Andy Jassy. He’s hoping they’ll think twice about this decision.

He mentioned that the company wasn’t upfront about the layoffs. It seems like he only got part of the story during their talks. He’s feeling pretty disrespected by the whole situation.

And guess what? People are already talking about boycotting Amazon. Some are even planning to return their stuff and cancel their accounts. It’s getting real out there!
