Malik Shaheed’s journey from hip-hop to youth advocacy inspires many in Montreal
He was the face of *Hip Hop*, a show on MusiquePlus that brought rap culture to Quebec. And even with all that fame, he stayed grounded. He always kept it real, saying he wanted to show the positive side of hip-hop.
For nearly 20 years, he’s been running the Youth Stars Foundation, helping kids through camps and activities. Plus, he’s a commissioner for the Lester B. Pearson School Board, making sure policies consider the needs of Black youth.

He’s always been about connecting with people. Whether it’s through his foundation or his work in schools, he’s passionate about inspiring the next generation. His Black History Month tours in schools aim to break stereotypes and highlight the contributions of Black people throughout history.
