Montreal: Get ready for some winter fun! The Glissades Gamelin is back in the heart of downtown. This year, they’ve added a cool four-lane hill for sledding, called La FOMO. Plus, there’s a heated chalet to warm up in.

This is the second season for Glissades Gamelin, which kicked off last winter. Besides La FOMO, there are two other hills: the MOLLO for snowskating and snowshoeing, and the YOLO for those who crave a bit more excitement.

Mayor Valérie Plante was there to kick things off at Émilie-Gamelin Square. Families enjoyed some thrilling downhill demos, along with coffee and hot chocolate to keep warm.

One participant shared, “It’s really fun, it’s friendly, and I can’t wait for warmer days. It’s cold, but even with that, it’s a blast!”

Another Montrealer chimed in, “This was my first time, and it was a bit too fast, but so much fun!”

“Totally agree! You’ve got to check out Glissades Gamelin, it’s amazing!” added a friend.

After hitting the slopes, folks can chill at the L’Après-glisse chalet. It’s cozy, with tasty treats and hot drinks from Café Tranquille.

Best part? It’s all free! You can even borrow equipment at no cost. Last weekend, over 2,100 people showed up, which was way more than expected, according to Éric Lefebvre, the general director of the Quartier des Spectacles Partnership.

The hills are open from Wednesday to Sunday until March 9th, so there’s plenty of time to enjoy the winter wonderland!
