Émile Nadeau shines with a bronze medal at the World Cup in Lac-Beauport, showcasing his talent on home turf
Lac-Beauport: Émile Nadeau from Prévost, Quebec, had an awesome day at the World Cup. He snagged a bronze medal in the men’s aerials event, improving from his seventh-place finish the day before.
Nadeau scored 95.98 points, coming in behind the Chinese duo of Qi Guangpu and Wang Xindi. It’s pretty cool that he also won bronze here last year, so he’s definitely got a knack for this place.
Qi, the Olympic champ, and Wang were the top two again, just like last year. It’s tough competition, but Nadeau held his own and made his mark.
In other news, Miha Fontaine from Lac-Beauport and Alexandre Duchaine from Quebec City finished 10th and 11th, respectively. Duchaine had a solid fifth-place finish in Saturday’s super final, so he’s doing well too.
On the women’s side, Marion Thénault from Sherbrooke had a rough time. She was recovering from a nasty virus and ended up sixth in the super final. She’s been through a lot, especially after injuring her knee last week.
Thénault has had a great career, with 11 World Cup medals, but she needed to do well this weekend to secure her Olympic spot. Luckily, she’ll have more chances later in the season.
Overall, it was an exciting weekend for Canadian aerials, and Nadeau’s performance really stood out!
