The Ottawa Senators are heading to Quebec City for two exciting pre-season games this September, promising a fun time for fans.
Quebec City: The Ottawa Senators are gearing up for a trip to Quebec City as part of their training camp. They’ll be playing two pre-season games at the Videotron Centre.
Owner Michael Andlauer shared the news on Monday. The Senators will face off against the New Jersey Devils on September 28 at 3 p.m. ET, and then they’ll take on the Montreal Canadiens on September 30 at 7 p.m. ET.
But it’s not just about the games. The team plans to engage in some team-building activities while they’re in Quebec City. They’ll also hold public practices and get involved in community events during their four-day stay.
Andlauer mentioned that this trip is a great chance for the players to connect with passionate fans and enjoy the beautiful city as they prepare for the upcoming season.
Senators president and CEO Cyril Leeder echoed the excitement, saying they can’t wait to showcase their players in front of the Quebec City crowd. It’s a perfect spot for their training camp.
Interestingly, this isn’t the Senators’ first time in Quebec. They hosted an inter-squad game at the Slush Puppie Centre last September. Plus, the Los Angeles Kings played two pre-season games at the same venue against the Boston Bruins and Florida Panthers, marking the first NHL pre-season games there since 2018.
The Videotron Centre, which opened in 2015, has been eyeing the possibility of attracting an NHL franchise, and it can hold up to 18,000 fans.
