Gracefield: So, there was this incident where the mayor of a western Quebec municipality fainted during a council meeting. It took a whopping 29 minutes for paramedics to get there!

Can you believe that? The meeting was just 30 seconds away from the local paramedic station. Chantal Lamarche, the warden, said all the ambulances were busy, so they had to call one in from another area.

She mentioned that it felt like forever waiting for help. But she also praised the ambulance crew for doing their best under the circumstances. The real issue is the shortage of ambulances in the area.

Lamarche pointed out that the population is aging, and calls for help are piling up. They just don’t have enough vehicles to respond quickly.

She’s hoping to get another ambulance stationed in Gracefield, but she’s not sure if the Quebec government will foot the bill. Meanwhile, Gatineau MNA Robert Bussière is aware of the situation and has talked to the health minister about it.

They’re trying to work on improving the response times, but it’s a tough situation. Let’s hope they can sort it out soon!
