The RCMP charged three men in Quebec. They are accused of smuggling people into Canada from the United States.

Muhammet Akca, age 41, faces conspiracy charges. He allegedly helped people cross illegally in 2024. His court date is March 3 in Valleyfield, Quebec.

Police stopped Akca last May in Ormstown, Quebec. This town sits southwest of Montreal. He drove toward an unguarded border crossing, allegedly picking up people who had crossed illegally into Canada.

Adrian Jose Herrera Tabares, 34, and Frangeli Coromoto Guzman Espinoza, 28, were arrested in a separate case on November 15 in Franklin, Quebec. They face charges under immigration law. They allegedly planned to pick up two people who had crossed into Canada illegally. Their court date is April 25 in Valleyfield.

The RCMP reported other investigations involving illegal crossings. Thirteen cases resulted in charges during 2024, filed at the Valleyfield courthouse.
