Montreal: This year’s Igloofest has turned into a hotspot for cellphone thefts. Hundreds of folks have reported their phones missing during the festival’s first two weeks.

One of the attendees, Mikaila Donald from Toronto, realized her phone was gone after dancing with friends. They searched everywhere but came up empty.

When she checked the lost and found, she found a long line of people in the same boat. Later, she used the Find My iPhone app and discovered her phone was already on its way to Kingston, Ontario.

Festival organizers say over 250 phones have been reported stolen so far. They’re aware of the issue and mentioned that organized crime networks are targeting big events like this.

Just a few days after losing her phone, Mikaila got a strange text on her new phone. It had a link claiming to help her find her missing device. It’s a wild situation, and many are left feeling uneasy about their safety at the festival.
