Quebec: The Société des alcools du Québec, or SAQ, is shaking things up a bit. They’re changing the hours for hundreds of their stores across the province. This is all part of a plan to better meet customer needs.

They’ll be closing two branches soon—one in Rivière-Bleue and another in downtown Chicoutimi. Plus, they’re merging two locations in Brossard into one. But don’t worry, a new store is on the way in Sherbrooke!

The SAQ is also adjusting the hours for 251 stores based on when customers are shopping. This is part of their effort to keep up with changing market conditions.

Interestingly, while in-store sales dipped last quarter, online sales jumped by 7.6%. They made nearly $20 million online! Despite the drop in physical sales, the SAQ still reported a net income of $337.8 million, which is a slight increase from last year.

CityNews has reached out to the SAQ and the workers’ union for comments, but we’re still waiting to hear back.
